Airunxin Embroidery Art Company, which is a practical training base for disabled people in Linyi County and an employment base for disabled people in Yuncheng City, has 62 employees, including 28 disabled workers, accounting for 45% of the total number of workers. The embroidery products produced by the company are sold to Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Taiwan and other places.
CHEN Yufang, the president of the company, is the winner of the first national civilized family, the winner of the National May Day Labor Medal, one of the top ten people who moved in Shanxi, and an advanced individual in Linyi County who helps the disabled. Since 1990, she has adopted 59 orphaned children (5 are still with her, 1 graduate student, 2 college students, 1 junior high school student and 1 special education student). Among them, 22 disabled people have set up their own families and bear the burden alone; 14 of them have set up their own businesses, such as curtain stores and garment processing stores; 18 of them are working outside of Linyin county and making their own living.
Helping the disabled to become rich is CHEN Yufang’s unremitting pursuit. In 2011, CHEN Yufang founded Airunxin Embroidery Art Company to help the disabled to get rich. Meanwhile, in order to let the disabled learn embroidery skills more professionally, CHEN Yufang invited experts from the south to train the disabled in embroidery. So far, she has undertaken 11 training sessions at the city and county level, with more than 400 people trained in hand-tied embroidery and Su embroidery, health care massage, e-commerce, literacy, garment tailoring, fine weaving and mending, etc., of which the employment rate has reached 30%. In order to better standardize the training, she applied to open Airunxin Vocational Training School in Linyi County. Now the company is developing “tiger-open-eyes pattern cap”, “lion pattern cap”, which is lifelike, and is sold to Beijing Imperial Palace and other places, and it has also applied for patent. At present, 18 disabled people have become excellent embroiderers in the company, and some of them have won the titles of “March 8·Red Flag Hand in Yuncheng City” and “Sanjin Intelligent Sisters”, etc., whose average monthly income is RMB 1,300 yuan, and the monthly income of skilled workers can reach RMB 1,800 yuan, and their annual income is RMB 20,000 to 30,000 yuan.
In May 2017, on the eve of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the company produced a huge embroidery work “Early Spring” for Chairman MAO's Museum in Lubao, Changzhi City in Shanxi province, which vividly reproduced the grand scene when chairman MAO and 96 other proletarian revolutionaries and democratic personage of the older generation attending the first National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. The work was completed by eight skilled embroiderers, four of whom were disabled, over a period of two and a half years. The embroidery, 7.46 meters long and 2.8 meters wide, is magnificent, lifelike and exquisitely embroidered. It was highly appraised by Mr. Han Chang’an, chairman of Lubao Group and founder of Lubao Chairman MAO Museum, and is hung in the reception hall of the museum for visitors to admire.
Last year, the company was identified as “the disabled supporting employment base in Linyi County”, providing employment for 4 severe physical disabled and 2 mild intellectual disabled, in which the oldest is 38 years old, the youngest one is 19 years old, and the highest per capita salary is more than RMB 2,000 yuan, and the lowest one is more than RMB 500 yuan.
Over the past few years, the company has nourished the disabled with love, won customers with credibility, created her own brand, expanded the market, and become a practical training base and a warm harbor for the disabled, and made them be self-independent and could make their own lives.
